The Sanctuary Adventist Church, formerly the Calvary Baptist Church is a working church located at the intersection of 198th Street East and East Avenue G in Lancaster (8 min from the Vista Point House).

It is also known as the “Kill Bill” church. In Kill Bill: Volume 1 and 2, the Sanctuary Adventist Church stood in for the supposed El Paso, Texas-area Two Pines Wedding Chapel where the Deadly Viper Assassination Team (aka Vivica A. Fox, Lucy Liu, Daryl Hannah, Michael Madsen, and David Carradine) attempt to kill “the Bride” (aka Uma Thurman).

Other notable films that have used this church as a location are “Crossroads” with Britney Spears (okay, that’s questionable on the “notable” thing) and “True Confessions” with Robert DeNiro.

Club Ed is one of several motel/gas station/diner film sets in the area. Located on 150th street east, 1 mile south of Ave K. Club Ed was built from scratch for a Dennis Hopper film (Eye of the Storm) in 1990.

Since then it's been in countless movies, commercials, music videos and photo shoots. Some say it's made 150th Street in Antelope Valley the most filmed street in the US (10 min from the Vista Point House).

Mountain High - More Than 80 Years Of Skiing Herritage. Big Pines Park opened on Labor Day 1924 and by 1929 a world class ski jump was the focal point of Southern California’s festive winter sports carnivals. In June 1997, Mountain High Ski Area was purchased by a company today known as Mountain High Holdings LLC. A dramatic transformation took place that summer which included the renovation of everything from lifts to grooming equipment to snowmaking facilities. In just the first year, the resort saw a 129% increase in attendance, justifying the extensive capital outlay.  Now titled the “New” Mountain High Resort, the stage was set for the area’s transition into the 21st century.

During the next several years, popularity grew without precedent, and in 2001, just four years after the purchase, Mountain High had become one of the top five resorts in the state and top 25 resorts in the country in terms of skier visits.  To this day, Mountain High is still one of Southern California's most popular winter resorand has since won numerous awards for generating new participants and increasing the frequency of core visitors.

The North Pole Tubing Park is the largest facility for snow tubing in Southern California with up to ten lanes when fully open, two moving carpets and custom tubes. For the best snow tubing in California come up to the Mountain High tubing park!

You will find Mountain High just three miles past the town of Wrightwood.

Located at 24510 California 2, Wrightwood, CA 92397 (50 min from the Vista Point House).
